With DUEL 6 now looming it is time to get a feel for what the fighters from the DUEL Muay Thai Elements have to say! I have been in contact with them to get a feel for how training has been going and how the feel the fight might go on the night.
This is the first time that Muay Thai will be featured on a DUEL Fight Sports event and the events have been organised by Steve Erawan Wright. Steve is well known in England for his events that he has previously arranged and he is a valuable addition to the DUEL team.
There has been a few fights announced so far for DUEL Muay Thai Elements and I am excited to bring them your way!
First off there is:
DUEL National Title Fight – Cody Ditcheva vs Kevin Carr @ 61KG
Here is what Steve said about the National Muay Thai Championship Fight @ 61KG:
“What a fight – DUEL National Title Fight.
Following the withdrawl of Jordan Williams we have been working hard to secure Kevin Carr a replacement match. And what a replacement this one is.
Kevin will now take on Cody Ditcheva from Northern Spirit, Cody is a well rounded & skilled fighter, training under former World Champion (and mother)Lisa Howarth and training alongside sister and young superstar Dakota Ditcheva as well as others such as Leyton Collymore
Things just got tougher for Northern Area Champion -Kevin, who keeps improving and improving and always up for a challenge in true Jai Suu fashion.
These 2 fighters need as much support as possible.
This bout should make for a cracking display of Muay Thai”
Next up there is: Jason Magee vs Andrew Burns @ 73KG
This is what was said about this fight from the organiser of DUEL Muay Thai Elements Steve Erawan Wright:
“Well here is another fight I am REALLY pleased with.
This is an “N Class” bout, but believe me, this will be a great fight to watch.
Andrew, although only having a couple of fights – has been training for many years and has a lovely style. He has worked closely over the years under the watchful eye of experienced coach Nick Hands. I’ve personally seen them train in the gym and always been super impressed.
On the flip side, Jason (a much younger opponent) has only trained a short while (up to 2 years or so) but have to say, I have seen him in action now on several occasions and have been really impressed by him. He trains hard, is obviously committed in what he is doing over at Phoenix – and it shows.
His last outing was a superb performance. Keep a check on this kid over the coming months / years – Just a feeling, but I reckon he’s gonna be the one to watch from the younger guys at Phoenix.”
Last but not at all least : Kristian Atkinson vs Matthew Nesbit @ 60KG
When the fight got announced this is what Steve had to say:
Kristian is an experienced fighter from being a junior and is known up and down the Country as a talented fighter, he trains alongside the up and coming, super talented Charlie Simpson as well as his twin brother Jevon. Never in a dull fight, Kristian will be looking to cement his position in the North East as one of the best North East fighters at his weight. Usually fighting between 55-57kg, he will be giving away a little weight in this fight.
Mathew trains alongside the likes of professional MMA fighter Colin Fletcher over at the Unity Gym in Durham. Although not as experienced as Kristian, Mathew is well schooled and knows he is the underdog in this fight so will be training hard to stamp his mark on the North East Thai Boxing scene.
A little trade off for experience against weight.”
So there you have it some fantastic local and national bouts lined up for you at DUEL Fight Sports upcoming event #DUEL6
I will be looking to do a brief interview with the fighters before the fights this weekend so watch out! Until then, you can catch the promo video right here!
